New Horizons for English Service in Taiwan Open Call for Original Video Clip Entries |

•Evaluation Oct. 4th, 2011 RDEC-appointed evaluation committee will select top three entries. |

•Announcement Oct. 6th, 2011 Winners announced via official website. Winners are required to join a press conference activity on October 12th. |
Entries should be: |

A short video clip (60 – 120 seconds) in English on one of the following two theme categories - |

1. On the Cutting Edge of English Service |
|
Entries in this category should highlight the English Service Emblem program participant’s experience with either a) building and promoting a bilingual environment or b) introducing their venue / products / services to international visitors. Competitive entries should give unique and engaging insights into the
individual experiences of program participants. |

2. Consumer Impact |
|
What do you think of when you hear “English Service”? Entries in this category should highlight the experiences and impressions of consumers / international visitors shopping at English Service Emblem retailers. |

Fill out the entry form online and upload your video clip. Entries will be accepted in the any of the following digital video formats: ..wmv
•Video Length: 60 ~ 120 seconds
•Upload Format: <20MB, 512k streaming WMV
•DVD Submission: 1:1 uncompressed avi file, 1080 HD

Scoring: |
|
•Creativity <40%> : Entry’s fresh and innovative approach to present the theme; |
|
•Content <30%> : Entry’s presentation of the spirit and essence of the program theme; |
|
•Visual Effect <30%> : Entry’s visual impact and image clarity. |
Awards: |

•1st Place NT$15,000 |
|
•2nd Place NT$10,000 |
|
•3rd Place NT$5,000 |
Important Information: |
|
1.Entries may be used to promote the English Service Emblem program without further compensation or remuneration. |
|
2.Award winners must attend the designated awards press conference. |
|
3.The entrant shall accept full responsibility for any breach of intellectual property rights (IPR) related to his / her entry. A winning entry found guilty of IPR violations shall be disqualified and relinquish all award monies received. |
|
4.The entrant must obtain appropriate authorization from the legal owner(s) for all copyrighted music used. |
|
5.In accordance with the ROC tax code, awards in excess of NT$13,333 are subject to a 15% tax prepayment deduction. Non-ROC residents (i.e., citizens and non-citizens who have resided in Taiwan for less than 183 consecutive days) shall be subject to an automatic tax prepayment deduction of 20% on the total award value. |

6.Issues not currently addressed by program rules may be addressed by the organizer in future rules revision announcements.
